To facilitate further transfer of knowledge and Network collaboration, all ESRs/ERs will spend secondments with their co-supervisors. These secondments will enable ESRs to experience different research environments, approaches, and styles, and provide them with the opportunity to work with complementary research techniques .

ESRs/ERs will initiate these ventures independently and will spend between 1 and 3 months as secondees.

  • In June 2016, the first of the Network's secondments took place. Andrea Rodil (ESR 9) came to University College Dublin for one month to investigate Biotransformations in funghi. Read more about the skills she acquired on her secondment.
  • From August to September 2016, Etienne Lisse (ESR 1) spent one month in Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Prague, Czech Republic to investigate Screening of SNAr-VNS reactions on fluorinated dicarbonyl systems. Read more about the skills he acquired on his secondment.
  • From 15th October to 15th November 2016, Dianna Gimenez (ESR 2) did her secondment in Westfälische Wilhelms- Universität Münster, Germany. Her project title is: Perfluoroaromatic reagents as a tool for peptide-sugar conjugation. Read more about the skills she acquired on her secondment.
